Escape the Esplanade

This exhibition considered the role of spectator and spectacle. It was both an invitation to the viewer to participate in the work and a response to the long, thin, structure of the Limbo project space. The length and shape of the space lent itself to the act of walking through, an act that is similarly directed by the structure of a street or pier. The anthropomorphic paintings with their beady eyes and dapper ties lined a promenade and ultimately posed the question: who is looking at who?
